"Assignment Alert" alerts us to your assignments which may require your students to use the library. Your cooperation has been greatly appreciated by the library staff, your students and their parents.
The "Assignment Alert Form":
1. advises us of an assignment which requires students to locate specific information.
We strongly urge you to provide us with the assignment before it is given to your students so we can look up the answers and be sure the information is available here for your students.
2. advises us if the purpose of the assignment is the information sought or the use of the library resources.
For example, do you want us to help the student search for the information or have it ready to “hand over”?
3. advises us of the number of students looking for the same information or resources.
The first student who visits may check out all of our circulating materials leaving none for his/her classmates.
4. advises us of the type of resources you would like your students to use.
Are encyclopedias acceptable? CD-ROMs? Periodicals? Internet sources?
