Volunteer Opportunities

  • Adopt-A-Shelf 

    The Adopt-A-Shelf volunteers spend one to two hours every other week "reading" shelves to be sure the books are in the proper order. Volunteers are encouraged to select an area  based on their own interests: fiction, mystery, western, non-fiction, gardening, biography, craft, etc.

  • Book Delivery service 

    Bring the joy or reading to those who can't get to the library! Deliver books to shut-ins weekly! Staff members pick the selections for you to deliver. Call 419-433-5009 today to sign up! Snowbirds welcome! 

  • Display a collection 

    Do you have a special collection you would like to share with others? Please give us a call, 419-433-5009 to schedule a month in the window show case or the small display case. 

  • Seasonal decorations

  • Other Friends activities include the Annual Book Sale in July.

Mission

Friends of Libraries U.S.A.

Our mission is: To motivate and support local Friends groups across the country in their efforts to preserve and strengthen libraries, and to create awareness and appreciation of library services by: 

  • Assisting in developing Friends of the Library groups in order to generate local and state support
  • Providing guidance, education, and counsel throughout the Friends network
  • Promoting the development of strong library advocacy programs
  • Serving as a clearinghouse of information and expertise.
  •  Our Honorary Chair is First Lady Laura Bush.
