From Alyssa:

Callahan Cousins #4
By Elizabeth Doyle Carey

Brief Description: This book is about 4 cousins who go to their Grandma's on Winter break to have Christmas. Phoebe, the main character, wants to have a perfect Christmas but no snow has arrived yet. She has all these activities planned, too, for the holidays. She and her cousins get to stay over in a museum for the night but unusual things start to happen. They end up solving an island mystery.

Review

This series, and especially this book, relates to a lot of things girls go through in their pre-teen and teen years. You can get to know the character really well and what she likes to do. All the books are about one of the cousins indivually so this way you get to the deep feelings she has for something.

This book is exciting and thrilling to read, so pick it up!

Double Identity
By Margaret Peterson Haddix

Brief Description: A book about a girl named Bethany, who knows that something strange is going on in her family. Her parents drop her off at the house of an Aunt she never knew she had and she reveals a secret from a cousin she never knew...

Review:

In this book, a girl named Bethany finds out that her life is a lot more complicated than it seems.
First, her parents start acting strange around the time she's getting ready to turn thirteen. They drop her off at the house of a woman she learns is her aunt, and call less and less, giving her no explanation, and no idea what's happening. On top of it all, people are looking at her strangely, like they've seen a ghost...

Then Bethany finds out about a girl named Elizabeth that everyone seems to know except her. Who is Elizabeth? Or better put, who was she?

This is yet another one of Margaret Peterson Haddix's twisting, page-turners that you won't want to put down. I give it a four out of five and definitely recommend it to anyone.
