Teen Library Council
Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to join Teen Library Council (TLC)! Teen Library Council is a great way to volunteer in your community with your peers. Fill out an application today! Applications can be emailed to Melissa.Harrington@HuronLibrary.org or dropped off at the Library circulation desk.
The first meeting of the school year is set for Monday, September 30 at 4 p.m. New members are expected to drop off their application before this date.
Teen Library Council Application
The Mission of the Huron Public Library Teen Library Council (TLC) is to:
- Provide insight and advice on programs for teens
- Assist the library staff
- Offer opinions on teen books, movies, music, and other library material selections
- Assist with developing a relevant teen collection in the Library
Members of the Council are expected to:
- Voluntarily participate in teen events
- Attend regularly scheduled TLC monthly meetings
- Be ambassadors of the library
- Volunteer for youth programs; earning community service hours if needed
- TLC is expected to volunteer for major events; including Trick-or-Reading, Holiday Open House, and Summer Learning Programs
