Using the Library
Library Cards
In order to get a library card at Huron Public Library applicants must bring a current photo ID and an item with the applicant's proof of current address (i.e. driver's license, utility bill, etc.) to the Circulation Desk. A simple application is required, along with these identifying documents.
A state ID may be used for both if the ID is not expired and has the patron's current address on it. If the address is not current, the applicant will need another item with a current address displayed.
If the applicant is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with a current ID and proof of address. It is suggested that children are at least in Kindergarten before getting their own card.
Lost/Damaged cards cost $1.00 to replace. Please report lost or stolen cards to the Library as soon as possible, as the Library is not responsible for fines accrued on a lost card if the card has not been reported lost.
Patrons must only have one library card from a CLEVNET library at a time with exceptions for some libraries that have unique card circumstances. Please call the Library at (419) 433-5009 with questions.
